Say goodbye to the awkward 4-minute slow dance
Say hello to your favorite wedding memory.
Historically, couples have had two options when it comes to their first dance: take ballroom dance lessons at a studio, or wing it. But what about everyone who sits in the middle?
Windrose Coaching aims to fill that gap with dance lessons that are all about YOU. My style of coaching helps you to get out of your head and over your fear of looking like a ‘bad dancer’, and instead, actually have FUN dancing. I promise you: every single previous client has gotten to this place, simply by getting out of their own way and learning to enjoy the process.
By meeting you where you are, I’ll work with you until you feel comfortable dancing with your partner, confident in your movements, and most importantly, ready to dance in front of all your loved ones on your wedding day.

Our Services
Weddings
Say goodbye to the awkward sway; instead, book private in-person or online lessons for a couple’s First Dance, Parent/Child Dances, Wedding Party Dances, and Bachelor(ette) parties.
Date Night
Grab your partner or a group of friends and enjoy some sparkling wine while learning to let loose on the dance floor. It’s the best excuse for a fun night out!
Special Events
Sometimes, a surprise flash mob or an organized performance is exactly what your event needs to stand out. Dance has a way of putting the ‘extra’ in ‘extraordinary’.
The Wedding Dance Tutorial Series
Have you ever seen people dancing at an event and wondered how you could look that confident? Or maybe you’ve wanted some dance instruction so that it looks like you know what you’re doing…but you don’t want to take lessons at a studio? These DIY Dance Tutorials allow you to learn from the comfort of your own home. Rather than teach you a pre-made choreographed dance, I break down how to perform each movement step-by-step so that you can easily build your own dance to the song you’ve chosen.

“We immediately felt comfortable.”
Olivia was over the top as an instructor! It was our first time taking dance lessons together, and we immediately felt comfortable and at ease. It was such a fun experience and we'd definitely take lessons again in the future. Olivia is pure joy to be around and quickly becomes a friend to her students. We loved it!
MEET THE COACH
Olivia Burnham, MA, PCC
With my joint European Master of Arts degree in Dance as Knowledge, Practice & Heritage, I was able to learn about dance through the cultures of different communities. I realized that the culture of dance in the US is, for many people, deeply connected to the fear of looking foolish in front of our peers. Rather than let that fear lead to paralysis, I coach you in a simple and fun way that helps you realize that your ability to dance well is only a short step away.
I live in Newport, RI with my rescue pup Milo, and I always need to be within arm’s reach of the ocean. You can usually find me enjoying the city’s food and arts & culture scenes, sailing, shopping consignment, or getting ready to travel to Europe – again.

“Best wedding planning decision.”
If you want to have a blast with dance lessons leading up to your wedding, book Olivia asap! She was so flexible with our schedules and choreographed and led our dance lessons all over video call. We wanted a fun but cute and casual first dance and Olivia choreographed it perfectly to fit us as a couple. She is truly the best and helped us create unforgettable memories at our wedding - book her and it’ll be the best wedding planning decision you make.

“Nailed our first dance.”
Olivia was amazing at teaching us the basics while not being overly prescriptive. She really tried to put us in a place that looked natural and fit with both our personalities. We ultimately nailed our first dance despite the band messing up timing/song, which I thought was huge kudos to Olivia for helping us be more "free flowing" during the lessons. Highly recommend Olivia for really any type of dance.
